Open Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF Files in Your Browser

View Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files right in this browser, without sending them to a server.

Drop a Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF file here, or choose one with the button (up to 20MB).

Files open only in this browser and are never sent to a server.

How to use

  • Drop a file on the dashed box, or pick one with the “Choose a file” button (up to 20MB).
  • Once a file is open, the buttons at the top let you open another file, save it or print it.
  • Save stores the file you opened, unchanged.
  • In Excel files, switch sheets with the tabs.
  • Large Excel sheets show 2,000 rows and 100 columns at a time; use the buttons to show more.
  • For PDFs, change the size with Zoom out, Zoom in and Fit to width (75–300%).
  • PDFs print up to 200 pages.

Formats and what you see

  • Word (.docx): text, headings, tables, images, headers, footers and footnotes, page by page (ruby shows the base text only).
  • Excel (.xlsx): cell values as a table for each sheet (number formats, column widths and merged cells are shown too).
  • PowerPoint (.pptx): text, shapes, images and tables, in slide show order.
  • PDF: pages as they are (you can select and copy the text).

Limitations

  • This tool is for viewing only, so you can't edit files (you can print them and save the original file).
  • Excel colors, bold text and borders are not shown.
  • PDF annotations, forms and links are not shown.
  • PowerPoint animations, transitions, charts, SmartArt, video, audio and speaker notes are not shown.
